CLARK IS SHOT! – Chloe is warned by Gabriel that he is going to set off a missile and obliterate all of Smallville. Still stripped of his super powers, Clark confronts Gabriel and ends up getting shot. In the hospital, Clark flatlines and his fate is left in Jor-El’s hands. Meanwhile, Lex believes Lionel has the key to open the spaceship.
LEX’S DARK SIDE EMERGES AFTER A KRYPTONITE EXPLOSION – A black Kryptonite explosion splits Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) in two and his evil side – Alexander – is released. Alexander imprisons Lex in the mansion then gives full vent to his evil side – he threatens to evict Lana (Kristin Kreuk) from the Talon unless she becomes his mate, jousts with Lionel (John Glover) , and tries to kill Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison mack) when they figure out his secret.
LOIS LANE HITS SMALLVILLE AND CLARK FLIES! – Clark (Tom Welling) returns to Smallville re-programmed as Kal-El. Intent on fulfilling his destiny, Kal-El takes to the skies to steal a powerful Kryptonite crystal. Determined to save her son, Martha (Annette O’Toole) turns to Dr. Swann’s emissary, Bridgette Crosby, and learns about a surprising new form of Kyptonite. Meanwhile, Lois Lane (Erica Durance) comes to town to investigate the murder of her cousin Chloe (Allison Mack). Also, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) returns from Paris with a new attitude and a new boyfriend, Jonathan (John Schneider) lies in a coma, and Lionel (John Glover) faces a grim new life in prison.
CLARK MAKES A DECISION ABOUT HIS DESTINY – A sense of foreboding surrounds Smallville as Clark must choose between staying with Lana and his family or fulfilling his destiny to rule the Earth. Meanwhile, Lex and Helen plan their upcoming wedding, but outside forces may ultimately keep them apart. Also, a hurt Chloe considers Lionel’s offer to investigate Clark.
The adventures continue for the Teen of Steel as the drama kicks off its sophomore season with Smallville still in the grips of a devastating twister. Faster than a speeding bullet, Clark rescues Lana from the storm and rushes her to a hospital before he races home to aid his folks. But Clark soon discovers that his dad is missing and was last seen chasing a nosy newspaper reporter off the farm. Elsewhere, millionaire Lex Luthor has his own problems when his conflicted feelings for his father cause him to hesitate in a moment of crisis.
Clark befriends a kindred spirit when his family aids a secretive teen who can read minds. This strong installment has a refreshing twist: for once, the other boy with the superpowers isn’t a villain. He’s a benevolent lad who enters the Kents’ life in dramatic fashion when he’s accidentally struck by their pickup truck while fleeing from a murderous thief. Clark’s parents take in the telepathic teen, but the boy’s safety is soon jeopardized by the killer’s return. Meanwhile, Lex a chance to leave Smallville when his father offers him a job in Metropolis, but their stormy history makes Lex wary of his father’s generous impulse.
