Personal Life

  • born Kristin Laura Kreuk in Vancouver, British Columbia on December 30, 1982
  • her father, Peter Kreuk, is of Dutch descent; her mother, Deanna Che, is of Chinese descent, but she was born in Indonesia
  • she has a sister named Justine, who is about five years younger
  • she trained in karate and gymnastics at the national level until high school but quit in Grade 11 due to scoliosis
  • she bought a home in Los Angeles with her boyfriend Mark Hildreth
  • she doesn’t eat meat, as she stated in her weblog Girls by Design


  • after shooting the first season of Edgemont, she landed the lead role of Snow White in a TV movie titled Snow White: The Fairest of Them All
  • originally, she was unsure about auditioning for Lana’s role
  • upon reading the graveyard scene from the pilot, she was so impressed that when she was offered the role, she immediately accepted
  • she wrapped up her role on Edgemont in 2003
  • in 2004, she took the role of Tenar for the Sci Fi Channel miniseries Legend of Earthsea
  • Neutrogena made her the spokesmodel for their new worldwide advertising campaign
  • In 2005, she renewed her contract with Neutrogena for another two years, making her the company’s longest-serving model spokesperson
