METEOR FREAKS

Jeremy Creek
Portrayed by: Justin Chatwin
Episode Appearance: 1.01 Pilot
Current Whereabouts: Unknown

Jeremy was the victim of a horrible prank that occurred annually at Smallville high school. Having been chosen as the "scarecrow" in the fall of 1989, Jeremy was left half-naked and strung out in the middle of a corn field, when the meteor shower carrying Clark's ship hit the town. Jeremy's bad luck became even worse as he was hit by the falling meteorites. His body was found afterwards, but the damage was done and Jeremy remained in a coma for twelve years. One of the after-effects of the meteor shower was that he had stopped aging. Furthermore, his body developed an electrolyte imbalance which led to him being able to create electric charges. This also gave Jeremy the ability to control electric objects around him.

In a vicious act of revenge against the men who had been cruel to him so many years before, Jeremy used his powers to attack each of the former jocks. However, he wasn't happy with merely taking the lives of those who had bullied him; he planned to destroy all the students in the high school during a school dance. Clark attempted to stop Jeremy from his rampage, but was unable to dissuade him. Jeremy attempted to run Clark over in a truck that he had started by using his abilities. Clark easily avoided the truck but was unable to stop Jeremy from being electrocuted. Miraculously, Jeremy survives the experience but was unable to remember the events that transpired, only stating that he wished to return to his home.

Greg Arkin
Portrayed by: Chad Donella
Episode Appearance: 1.02 Metamorphosis
Current Whereabouts: Deceased

Greg is the first of many "meteorized" teenagers who developed an unhealthy crush on the young Lana Lang. Much like other nerdy teenagers, he was at the bottom of the popularity pyramid, mostly due to his obsession with his large insect collection. Since he was an avid collector, his room was filled with various bugs from the beautiful to the down-right creepy. Even his own mother was somewhat disturbed by her son's obsession; not just with the insects but also the stalker-like behavior regarding Lana. When his mother threatens to send him off to boarding school, Greg decides that he must rescue his precious pets before his mother destroys them. However, his large insect collection gets out of control as they begin to sting him repeatedly while he is driving, causing him to crash his car.

Unknown to him, the rocks in the insect cases were actually pieces of kryptonite, which had passed on its radiation into the insects. The insects had then passed on their natural abilities to Greg when they had stung him. Greg began to exhibit certain physical attributes of insects: Super-strength, wall-crawling, and the ability to jump great distances. However, his very nature began to change into something sinister as his personality became more and more like the bugs he collected. Greg had to eat, molt, and mate. After feeding on his own mother, Greg sheds his skin, and decides to find himself a mate; Lana. Clark attempts to stop Greg from using Lana as his mate, but is attacked as Greg continues to give into his basic instincts. While attempting to kill Clark in a dilapidated warehouse, Greg is crushed by a support beam, and thousands of insects emerge and scatter from Greg's broken body.

Powers, and how he got them: Power of invisibility. Received abilities after meteor shower, although it's not clarified which meteor shower, or how exactly his powers were received. He made some comment about how he had been in Smallville a year ago so I guess he got his powers in the second shower.
How he died: Lex, when realizing Graham was in the room, began to fire his gun wildly and one of his shots scored. Graham died soon after.
