• 9.01 Savior

  BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN (“TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES”) GUEST STARS AS JOHN CORBEN - Clark (Tom Welling) tells Jor-El he¹s ready to start his training, but Jor-El sends him back to Metropolis to cut ties with Lois before he can begin. Chloe (Allison Mack) is shocked when Lois (Erica Durance) suddenly reappears after having been missing for weeks, but Lois has no recollection of vanishing into thin air with the Legion ring. While investigating a monorail crash, Lois meets John Corben (guest star Brian Austin Green), a new reporter at The Daily Planet, with a negative attitude toward the Red-Blue Blur. Chloe begs Clark to use the Legion ring to go back in time to save Jimmy, but he refuses, driving a wedge into their friendship. Meanwhile, Oliver (Justin Hartley) continues down a dark road, and Zod (Callum Blue) arrives at the Luthor mansion.

  BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN (”TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES”) CONTINUES HIS ROLE AS JOHN CORBEN — After being struck by a truck, John Corben (guest star Brian Austin Green) wakes up alone in an abandoned apartment as a man-machine with a Kryptonite heart. Corben realizes he now has superhuman strength and sets out to exact revenge on the Red-Blue Blur, who he perceives to be an irresponsible vigilante. Against Clark’s (Tom Welling) wishes, Lois (Erica Durance) involves herself in the Red-Blue Blur’s investigation, and winds up getting kidnapped by Corben.

  ZOD UNLEASHES A VIRUS INTO METROPOLIS - Zod (Callum Blue) and his soldiers release a virus into the air that turns humans into zombies. The only way to stop it is to make an antidote from the blood of another Kryptonian. After Lois (Erica Durance) is infected, Chloe (Allison Mack) pleads with Clark (Tom Welling) to donate his blood to stop the epidemic, even though it risks outing him to Zod.

  THE TOYMAN RETURNS AND TAKES OLIVER HOSTAGE — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) forces Oliver (Justin Hartley) to come to a Queen Industries gala to put the Board at ease, but things go awry when the Toyman (guest star Chris Gauthier) shows up with a bomb and a plan to take revenge on Oliver. The Toyman tells Oliver he must confess to murdering Lex or he will blow the place up. Meanwhile, as part of his training, Jor-El gives Clark (Tom Welling) the ability to hear other people’s thoughts.

  DC COMICS’ CHARACTER ROULETTE SHOWS OLIVER HER CARDS — Oliver (Justin Hartley) is drugged and kidnapped by a woman named Victoria AKA Roulette (guest star Steph Song), who tells Oliver that he’s involved in a dangerous game and must fight for his life. After Victoria shows up dead and Oliver is arrested by the police, he turns to Chloe (Allison Mack) for help. Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) berates Clark (Tom Welling) for not telling her about Oliver’s suicide attempt.

  OLIVER TAKES DC COMICS’ CHARACTER SPEEDY UNDER HIS WING — Oliver (Justin Hartley) tries to help a young street girl, Mia AKA Speedy (guest star Elise Gatien), get out of her dangerous life by offering to train her, but Mia double crosses him. Lois (Erica Durance) asks Clark (Tom Welling) to help her land a job as an on-air television host, but the two are shocked when the station wants to hire them as a team.

• 9.09 Pandora

  BACK TO THE FUTURE — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) kidnaps Lois (Erica Durance) to find out where Lois went after she disappeared for weeks. Lois's memory of the future depicts a Metropolis under Zod's (Callum Blue) rule and Clark (Tom Welling) powerless under the red sun, while Chloe (Allison Mack) forms a resistance group with Oliver (Justin Hartley). After learning of these future events, Clark makes an important decision about Zod.

• 9.07 Kandor

  JOR-EL APPEARS IN SMALLVILLE — Jor-El (guest star Julian Sands) mysteriously arrives at the Kent farm searching for his son, Kal-El, but meets Chloe (Allison Mack) instead. Convinced the Blur is Jor-El, Zod (Callum Blue) enlists Tess’s (Cassidy Freeman) help in finding him to force him to reveal the secret to his powers. Clark (Tom Welling) realizes Jor-El is alive and on Earth and races to find him before Zod does.

• 9.08 Idol

  DC COMICS “THE WONDER TWINS” SHOW UP TO HELP CLARK CLEAN UP METROPOLIS – Superhero twins Zan (guest star David Gallagher) and Jayna (guest star Allison Scagliotti) show up in Metropolis to help The Blur fight crime but end up botching several rescues, landing Clark (Tom Welling) in hot water with the District Attorney’s office. Clark decides to come forward as the Blur to clear his name.

• 9.10 Disciple

  NO LOVERS, NO ALLIES, NO DISCIPLES - INTRODUCING DC COMICS CHARACTER THE DARK ARCHER - Oliver’s (Justin Hartley) past comes back to haunt him in the form of The Dark Archer (guest star Steve Bacic), Oliver’s former teacher, who seeks revenge on his student by taking aim at Lois (Erica Durance) and Chloe (Allison Mack). Oliver faces down The Dark Archer after his former mentor kidnaps Mia AKA “Speedy” (guest star Elise Gatien) but is pushed to his limit and Clark (Tom Welling) races to stop him from making another deadly mistake.

  DC COMICS’ CHARACTERS HAWKMAN, STAR GIRL AND DR. FATE FROM THE JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA MEET UP WITH CLARK AND HIS TEAM IN A SPECIAL TWO-HOUR EVENT; PAM GRIER GUEST STARS — A man named Sylvester Pemberton tracks down Chloe (Allison Mack) and tells her he knows about her team of superheroes and needs their help. However, before he can explain who he is, he is attacked and killed by Icicle (guest star Wesley Macinnes). Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe’s (Allison Mack) investigation leads Clark to the former headquarters of the Justice Society of America where he meets up with Nelson AKA Dr. Fate (guest star Brent Stait), Carter Hall AKA Hawkman (guest star Michael Shanks) and Courtney AKA Star Girl (guest star Britt Irvin). Courtney pleads with Hawkman and Dr. Fate to help her catch the killer that is targeting their group but they are reluctant to resume their duties as superheroes. Clark, John Jones (guest star Phil Morris), Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) and Chloe team up to help the JSA stop Icicle before he murders another member of the group. Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) receives a package from a mysterious agency called Checkmate, run by Amanda Waller (guest star Pam Grier).

  METROPOLIS HOSTS A COMIC BOOK CONVENTION — DC COMICS’ CHARACTER ZATANNA RETURNS — Clark (Tom Welling) meets Zatanna (guest star Serinda Swan) at a comic book convention, where she tells him her father charmed a copy of the comic book “Warrior Angel” and it holds magical powers. A young man named Stephen (guest star Carlo Marks) steals the comic book and develops super powers, transforming himself into Warrior Angel and saving Chloe (Allison Mack) from a horrible accident. Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) becomes jealous of Clark’s relationship with Zatanna.

• 9.14 Persuasion

  LOIS MOVES IN WITH CLARK — It is Valentine’s Day and while Clark (Tom Welling) is out on a date with Lois (Erica Durance), he unknowingly becomes infected by gemstone kryptonite, which has magical wish-fulfilling properties. Clark mentions to Lois that he wishes they had a more traditional relationship,so Lois quits the Daily Planet, moves in with Clark and starts planning their wedding. Still unaware of his new power, Clark also casually tells Chloe (Allison Mack) he wishes she would spend more time watching out for him, so an infected Chloe takes his wish to heart and sets her sights on a new target – Lois.

• 9.15 Conspiracy

  ZOD IS SHOT — Bernard Chisholm (guest star J.R. Bourne), a doctor who died and was brought back to life by the Kandorians so they can experiment on him, escapes and kidnaps some Kandorians in order to prove aliens have invaded Earth. Bernard tries to get Lois (Erica Durance) to write a story validating his claim, but when Lois refuses, he kidnaps her too. In an effort to save his people, Zod (Callum Blue) poses as a reporter from the Daily Planet and uncovers Bernard’s secret lab. Clark (Tom Welling) arrives at the lab just in time to see Zod get shot.

• 9.16 Escape

  DC COMICS’ CHARACTER SILVER BANSHEE INTERRUPTS A ROMANTIC GETAWAY FOR LOIS AND CLARK — Clark (Tom Welling) and Lois (Erica Durance) head out of town for a quiet romantic getaway, but their plans are thwarted when they run into Chloe (Allison Mack) and Oliver (Justin Hartley) at their Bed & Breakfast Inn. The couples’ awkward moment is interrupted by the arrival of the Silver Banshee (guest star Odessa Rae), who sets her sights on Clark and Oliver. Meanwhile, Tess (Cassidy Freeman) faces off with Zod (Callum Blue) with a surprising result.

• 9.17 Checkmate

  PAM GRIER (“JACKIE BROWN,” “THE L WORD”) GUEST STARS AND PHIL MORRIS RETURNS AS MARTIAN MANHUNTER — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) creates an elaborate hoax in order to kidnap Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) and delivers him to Amanda Waller (guest star Pam Grier), who tells him that that the government is recruiting him to serve his country. However, Green Arrow escapes before they can reveal his identity. After Oliver brings Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison Mack) up to speed, the three investigate and Clark is surprised to find John Jones (guest star Phil Morris.) investigating Oliver’s kidnapping too. Clark senses that John is keeping information from him. Oliver and Clark are shocked when Tess reveals that Amanda is after something called “Watchtower.” Waller threatens to kill Chloe unless Clark gives her the names and locations of the rest of the Justice League.

• 9.18 Upgrade

  BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN RETURNS AS METALLO AND CLARK IS INFECTED WITH RED KRYPTONITE — Zod (Callum Blue) continues to pose as “The Blur” and asks Lois (Erica Durance) to investigate one of Tess’ (Cassidy Freeman) secret labs.... An explosion rocks the lab, and Lois is rescued by John Corben (guest star Brian Austin Green) who was a subject of multiple experiments. While investigating the explosion, Clark (Tom Welling) is exposed to red kryptonite. And infected Clark takes Zod to the Fortress. Tess turns to Chloe (Allison Mack) for help and they send in Corben to stop Clark from revealing all his secrets.

• 9.19 Charade

  DC COMICS’ CHARACTER MAXWELL LORD VISITS METROPOLIS — Lois (Erica Durance) investigates the early prison release of ex-District Attorney Raymond Sacks (guest star Dylan Neal) but he threatens her with a gun when confronted. The Blur (Tom Welling) saves her, but is captured on film by a delivery guy (guest star Dustin Schwartz) who plans to sell the photo to Sacks. Lois and Clark each attempt to thwart the delivery of the photo and run into Maxwell Lord (guest star Gil Bellows, “Ally McBeal”), a wealthy tycoon and Checkmate operative, who is trying to learn The Blur’s identity to eliminate him. Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) discovers Zod’s (Callum Blue) secret.

• 9.20 Sacrifice

  CHLOE AND TESS ARE TRAPPED INSIDE WATCHTOWER — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) breaks into Watchtower, triggering an elaborate security system that Chloe (Allison Mack) installed, ultimately trapping the two women inside. Chloe realizes that The Kandorians are downloading information about from the Watchtower server, which prompts her to make a drastic move. Oliver (Justin Hartley) confronts Zod (Callum Blue) and winds up clinging to life with a “Z” scorched into his chest. Clark (Tom Welling) realizes Zod has given his soldiers super powers.

• 9.21 Hostage

  IT’S THE RETURN OF MARTHA KENT AND PERRY WHITE – Much to Clark’s (Tom Welling) surprise, Martha Kent (guest star Annette O’Toole) returns to Smallville with her new boyfriend, Perry White (guest star Michael McKean) in tow. Lois (Erica Durance) and Perry realize they are both working on the same story about the Red Queen, and decide to team up, which ultimately puts them in serious danger. Chloe (Allison Mack) helps Clark search for the Book of Rao, which they believe contains information on how to stop Zod (Callum Blue) and his army.

• 9.22 Salvation

  IT’S CLARK VS ZOD IN THE SEASON FINALE – Zod (Callum Blue) unleashes his army upon the world, forcing Chloe (Allison Mack) to call in reinforcements from old friends. Zod tells Lois (Erica Durance) he is The Blur and asks her to steal the Book of Rao from Clark (Tom Welling). Torn between Clark and The Blur, Lois asks Clark to come clean with her about everything but he refuses. Chloe (Allison Mack) and Oliver (Justin Hartley) attempt to reconnect Watchtower’s satellite system in order to fight the Kandorians but to Chloe’s horror, Oliver gets caught on site and disappears. Tess attempts to stop Zod but he leaves her clinging to life. Clark and Zod battle for control of Earth.

• 8.01 Odyssey - February 20, 2009

  THE JUSTICE LEAGUE RETURNS TO FIND CLARK AFTER THE COLLAPSE OF THE FORTRESS; THE NEW CEO OF LUTHORCORP COMES TO TOWN -- The Justice League, led by the Green Arrow (Justin Hartley), hits the Artic in search of Clark (Tom Welling), who disappeared after the fortress collapsed. The team immediately has a confrontation with the new CEO of Luthorcorp, Tess Mercer (Cassidy Freeman). Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) is being held prisoner by a suspicious group who has discovered she has a new power, and Clark has been stripped of his powers by Jor-El.

• 8.02 Plastique - February 22, 2009

  DC COMICS CHARACTER PLASTIQUE BLASTS INTO METROPOLIS; DAVIS BLOOME ARRIVES IN SMALLVILLE — It’s Clark’s (Tom Welling) first day at the Daily Planet with Lois (Erica Durance), and the pair are immediately thrown together on a story when a bus explodes outside the office. Clark rescues Bette (guest star Jessica Parker Kennedy), a young girl who bonds with Chloe (Allison Mack) over their shared meteor abilities, but Bette is hiding a big secret. Paramedic Davis Bloom (Sam Witwer) arrives in Metropolis and is drawn to Chloe.

• 8.03 Toxic - February 23, 2009

  OLIVER FLASHES BACK TO HIS DAYS ON THE ISLAND AND LEARNS MORE ABOUT HIS PARENTS’ DEMISE — Oliver (Justin Hartley) collapses at a charity event and reveals he only has 24 hours to live. Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison Mack) call Davis (Sam Witwer) for help but his prognosis is grim. Delirious, Oliver flashes back to when he was stranded on an island and first learned how to use a bow and arrow. He also recalls meeting Tess (Cassidy Freeman) for the first time on that island after she had been kidnapped by a drug runner. Meanwhile, Chloe decides to use her new powers to help save Oliver, shocking Clark.

• 8.04 Instinct - February 23, 2009

  DC COMICS CHARACTER MAXIMA SETS HER SIGHTS ON CLARK — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) and her team perform tests on Clark’s (Tom Welling) crystal that she had retrieved from the arctic, causing it to send a beam of light into the universe. This triggers the arrival of Maxima (guest star Charlotte Sullivan), a queen from the planet Almerac, who is searching for her soulmate, who she believes sent the signal. Unfortunately, Maxima’s power is too great for mortal men and her kiss kills them. The seductive Maxima arrives in Metropolis and begins her search, starting with Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore).

  CHLOE TELLS JIMMY HOW SHE FEELS ABOUT CLARK — After they leave their engagement party, Chloe (Allison Mack) and Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) are abducted by a psychotic jeweler (guest star David Lewis) who was emotionally scarred by his wife’s infidelity and is now kidnapping couples and subjecting them to a kryptonite-enhanced lie detector that shocks them if they lie. The abductor asks Chloe if she is in love with anyone else. Meanwhile, in an effort to find Chloe and Jimmy, Clark (Tom Welling) and Lois (Erica Durance) pose as a couple and are kidnapped themselves then, asked how they feel about each other.

  DAVIS STARTS TO SEE HIS DARK SIDE — Clark (Tom Welling) looks into a recent attack in a theater that may be the work of a serial killer. Suspecting it could be someone who is meteor-infected, he demands that Chloe (Allison Mack) release the names of the people she is counseling at the Isis Foundation, which causes a rift between the friends. Davis (Sam Witwer) fears that his blackouts could mean that he is the serial killer and collects evidence that may implicate him. Fearing the worst, he confesses his suspicions to Chloe.

• 8.07 Identity - February 23, 2009

  JIMMY TAKES A PICTURE OF CLARK SAVING LOIS — Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) snaps a picture of Clark (Tom Welling) super-speeding to save Lois (Erica Durance) from a mugger and manages to catch a red and blue blur on film. Jimmy shows it to Tess (Cassidy Freeman) who decides to run it on the front page of the Daily Planet. Clark fears his identity will be discovered so he asks Chloe (Allison Mack) to run interference with Jimmy, but she refuses.

• 8.08 Bloodline - February 23, 2009

  KARA RETURNS — Clark (Tom Welling) receives an anonymous package containing the crystal that Tess (Cassidy Freeman) found in the Arctic. When he removes the crystal, it activates and sends him and a visiting Lois (Erica Durance) to the Phantom Zone where they run into Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort). Kara opens a portal for Lois to return but Zod’s wife Faora escapes with her and takes over Lois’ body. A possessed Lois goes on a rampage in Metropolis.

• 8.09 Abyss - February 23, 2009

  BRAINIAC ERASES CHLOE’S MEMORY — Brainiac begins removing Chloe’s (Allison Mack) memories one by one until the only person she remembers is Davis (Sam Witwer). Clark (Tom Welling) realizes the only way to stop Brainiac from taking over Chloe’s mind is to rebuild the Fortress and ask Jor-El to heal her.

• 8.10 Bride - February 23, 2009

  IT’S CHLOE AND JIMMY’S DREAM WEDDING DAY BUT TWO UNEXPECTED GUESTS CRASH THE PARTY — It’s Chloe (Allison Mack) and Jimmy’s (Aaron Ashmore) wedding day and the two prepare to walk down the aisle at the Kent farm. Meanwhile, Oliver (Justin Hartley) tells Clark (Tom Welling) he thinks he’s discovered where Lex is hiding and takes off to Cuba to confront him. However, when he arrives, Oliver is shocked to find Lana (Kristin Kreuk) instead. Clark and Lois (Erica Durance) grow closer but chaos ensues when Doomsday crashes the wedding and tries to kidnap Chloe.

• 8.11 Legion - February 23, 2009

  DC COMICS’ LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES ARRIVE IN SMALLVILLE FROM THE FUTURE TO HELP CLARK STOP BRAINIAC AND THE PERSUADER - The aftermath of Doomsday’s (Sam Witwer) attack on Chloe (Allison Mack) and Jimmy’s (Aaron Ashmore) wedding leaves Clark (Tom Welling) in shock, but before he can search for the kidnapped Chloe, The Persuader (guest star Fraser Aithceson) appears and attacks him. Rokk (guest star Ryan Kennedy), Imra (guest star Alexz Johnson) and Garth (guest star Calum Worthy), also known as The Legion, step in from the future to help vanquish the Persuader and the group realizes Brainiac has taken over Chloe once again. Meanwhile, up at the Fortress, Chloe, as Brainiac, informs Davis he is Doomsday and was created to kill “the other Kryptonian” and destroy the world.

• 8.12 Bulletproof - February 23, 2009

  JOHN JONES IS SHOT — Clark (Tom Welling) discovers John Jones (guest star Phil Morris) was shot while working as a police officer, so Clark dons the uniform and goes undercover to find the culprit. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) confronts Tess (Cassidy Freeman) and tells her Lex isn’t the man she thinks he is. Lana’s shocking news forces Tess to reevaluate her position as the head of Luthorcorp.

• 8.13 Power - February 23, 2009

  ALLISON MACK’S DIRECTORIAL DEBUT — Clark (Tom Welling) finds Tess (Cassidy Freeman) in Lana’s (Kristin Kreuk) ransacked apartment and realizes Lana is missing. Tess tells him Lex is still alive and may have kidnapped Lana and finally reveals the truth about what happened to Lana after she awoke from her Brainiac-induced coma. Meanwhile, Tess breaks into a secret LuthorCorp facility and is shocked at what she discovers.

• 8.14 Requiem - February 23, 2009

  SMALLVILLE BRINGS IN ANOTHER DC VILLIAN — An explosion at LuthorCorp kills all the Board members and injures Oliver (Justin Hartley), who was there to announce the merger of his company with LutherCorp. Oliver believes that Lex is responsible for the blast, but Clark (Tom Welling) and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) learn that the bomber is Winslow Schott (guest star Chris Gauthier), a toymaker and former Queen Industries employee with a grudge against Oliver.

• 8.15 Infamous - February 23, 2009

  TORI SPELLING RETURNS AS LINDA LAKE — Linda Lake (guest star Spelling) returns to Metropolis and threatens to expose Clark's (Tom Welling) secret unless he promises to give her exclusive information on the red-blue blur so she can become a star reporter again. Refusing to be blackmailed, Clark tells Lois (Erica Durance) his secret and asks her to write his story for The Daily Planet.

• 8.16 Turbulence - February 23, 2009

  TESS SETS A TRAP FOR CLARK — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) invites Clark (Tom Welling) to a press conference in New York, but, when an explosion rocks the private jet they are on, Clark must figure out how to save them without Tess learning his secret. Unbeknownst to Clark, Tess orchestrated the explosion to get Clark to reveal his powers. Meanwhile, Davis (Sam Witwer) discovers a surprising way to control the monster within.

  IT’S FREAKY FRIDAY FOR CHLOE AND LOIS WHEN DC CHARACTER ZATANNA APPEARS — At Chloe’s (Allison Mack) birthday party, a mysterious magician named Zatanna (guest star Serinda Swan) grants Chloe’s wish to be more like Lois (Erica Durance) and switches the two into each other’s bodies. Zatanna searches for her father’s book of spells so she can conjure up his spirit but not before also granting Clark (Tom Welling) his deepest wish.

  DAVIS BLOOME'S HISTORY IS REVEALED — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) tries to kill Davis (Sam Witwer) by blowing up his truck. However, after he escapes, she realizes she needs help to destroy him and turns to Clark (Tom Welling). Tess reveals Davis' secret childhood with the Luthors and hints that she knows Clark's true identity. Meanwhile, Davis runs to Chloe (Allison Mack) for help.

  LOIS LANE IS A SUPERHERO — Lois (Erica Durance) believes that she needs a big story to secure her reputation as a star reporter but the red/blue blur continues to elude her. However, after Chloe (Allison Mack) is mugged, Lois steps in to fend off one of the attackers and uses the opportunity to pretend a new superhero, Stiletto, has come to town and is giving exclusives to Lois. Clark (Tom Welling) is concerned Lois will hurt herself pretending to be a superhero but after he is captured by thugs with kryptonite, Lois steps in to save the day.

• 8.20 Beast - April 13, 2009

  DAVIS ASKS CHLOE TO LEAVE TOWN WITH HIM — Clark (Tom Welling) discovers that Davis (Sam Witwer) is still alive and confronts Chloe (Allison Mack) about protecting him. Oliver (Justin Hartley) discovers Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) breaking into Chloe’s apartment, but things get rapidly worse after Davis jumps from the shadows and attacks both of them.

  DC COMICS CHARACTER PLASTIQUE RETURNS WITH FRIENDS — Chloe (Allison Mack) returns and begs Clark (Tom Welling) to kill Davis (Sam Witwer), claiming he can no longer keep the beast under control. Tess (Cassidy Freeman) has assembled a team of meteor freaks, including Plastique (guest star Jessica Parker Kennedy), to track down Davis so Clark can kill him.   CLARK FACES BIZARRO, HIS TOUGHEST ENEMY YET AND SUPERGIRL COMES TO SMALLVILLE - Clark (Tom Welling) confronts Bizarro, the last wraith from the Phantom Zone, and the ensuing fight causes the dam to break and a torrent of water rushes towards the land. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), having just been arrested for Lana's (Kristin Kreuk) murder, is submerged under water in a patrol car, but is saved by a mysterious young woman. Lois (Erica Durance) manages to pull Chloe (Allison Mack) to safety but her cousin is pronounced dead at the hospital. The same woman who saved Lex reappears at the Kent farm and is revealed to be Kara Kent (Laura Vandervoort) A.K.A. Supergirl, Clark's cousin from Krypton.

  LANA ABSORBS CLARK'S POWERS AND GOES AFTER LEX - Kryptonite and high voltage mix during a lightning storm, causing Lana to absorb Clark's powers. Using her newfound super powers, she breaks into Lex's safe and steals incriminating evidence which she then delivers to Lois and Grant, demanding they run a story exposing Lex's secrets. After Grant refuses to use stolen material, Lana decides to take care of Lex herself. Clark tries to stop Lana from killing Lex and a super battle ensues between the two.

  HELEN SLATER RETURNS AS LARA-EL; CLARK MEETS HIS BIOLOGICAL MOTHER FOR THE FIRST TIME - Clark hears the voice of his biological mother, Lara, calling for help from Kara's crystal and decides to release her, despite Jor-El's warnings. Lara and Clark reunite and she gives him Jor-El's ring, which contains blue kryptonite. As Clark puts it on, he realizes Zor-El manipulated the whole thing and that blue kryptonite strips him of his powers, enabling Zor-El to take control of the Fortress of Solitude. Meanwhile, Chloe and Lex each discover Lois and Grant have been seeing each other and warn them to stop.

  CHLOE REVEALS TO JIMMY THAT SHE IS A METEOR FREAK - Clark returns to Smallville from the Fortress and tells Lana that Kara is gone. Clark tells Lana they should team up to bring Lex down, so she gives him all the information she's gathered so far, including a report on a man named Adrian, who was infected with an alien substance. Adrian secretly plants a bomb on Chloe and tells Lois if she doesn't get Lex to admit the truth about his experiments with 33.1, he will detonate the bomb. Chloe, thinking she is about to die, confesses to Jimmy that she is a meteor freak.

  BIZARRO TAKES OVER CLARK'S LIFE AND TRACKS DOWN BRAINIAC - While Clark is frozen in the Fortress, Bizarro takes over his life with Lana. Unaware she is with Bizarro, Lana enjoys the "new Clark" and shares information she's gathered on a serial killer who is draining his victims of all trace minerals. The two conclude it must be Brainiac and Bizarro sets off to find him. Lex is stunned at Lionel's reaction after Grant reveals he is a clone of Julian.

Pete unwittingly chews some kryptonite-laced gum and develops super powers. Clark and Chloe are thrilled to meet up with their old friend but warn him against using his powers in public. However, Lex discovers Pete's powers and blackmails him into helping break into a Lionel's safe by threatening to reveal Chloe is a meteor freak.

  LIONEL KIDNAPS CLARK - Lionel arranges to have Clark kidnapped and held in a kryptonite-lined cell at a Luthorcorp facility. After Chloe and Lana find a military electric probe at the farm, they confront Lionel, who throws suspicion onto Lex. Chloe and Lana take Kara to the Fortress and beg Jor-El to restore her memory as she is the only one who can save Clark.

  CLARK IS TRAPPED IN THE PHANTOM ZONE WHILE ZOD TAKES OVER LEX'S BODY AND PLOTS TO DESTROY EARTH; JIMMY OLSEN JOINS THE DAILY PLANET - Thrown into the Phantom Zone, a Kryptonian jail created by Jor-El, Clark finds himself without powers and surrounded by revenge-seeking criminals sent away by his father. Meanwhile, having taken over Lex's body, Zod keeps Lana captive with a demand to sire him an heir and begins his plans to turn Earth into a Krypton-like planet using the alien ship's hard drive. Clark helps Chloe break into the asylum to rescue Moira and finally get to know her mother.

Claiming Lex kidnapped her missing husband, Jodi threatens to blow up the entire lab with Lex inside unless he tells her where her husband is. Clark sets off to rescue Lex, but is immediately felled by the kryptonite lining the earthen walls. Lex and Clark realize the only way they will make it out alive is by helping each other.

  MARTIAN MANHUNTER RETURNS - When Clark discovers Lionel threatened to kill him unless Lana married Lex, he goes after Lionel to silence him once and for all. Lana tells Lex she is leaving him, and Martian Manhunter makes a return appearance to help Clark stop Lex, who is trying to find the last wraith from the Phantom Zone in order to use its DNA to power his army of super soldiers. Meanwhile, Lois goes to Reeves Dam in search of information about Lex's secret lab and is brutally stabbed by a security guard. Chloe's secret power is revealed.

• 5.01 Arrival - September 29, 2005

  CLARK VISITS THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE AND LANA FINDS A SPACESHIP - Having been transported to the Fortress of Solitude, Clark is confronted by Jor-El, who tells him he cannot return to Smallville, instead he must stay and prepare to save the planet. Also, transported to the Fortress, Chloe is unable to handle the sub-zero temperature and collapses, begging Clark to use his powers to save her. Jor-El forbids him to leave, but finally acquiesces, telling Clark he must return before sunset or there will be dire consequences. Meanwhile, Lana is horrified when she sees two Kryptonian aliens emerge from a spaceship discovered in the remnants of the meteor shower. The two aliens destroy what's left of the town searching for Kal-El.

• 5.02 Mortal - October 6, 2005

  CLARK LOSES HIS POWERS AND BEGINS A RELATIONSHIP WITH LANA - Jor-El strips Clark of his powers, making him human. Delighted to finally be "normal," Clark pursues a relationship with Lana sans secrets. However, after Lana, Jonathan and Martha are taken hostage by three thugs, Clark must figure out how to save his family without his super powers.

  CLARK IS SHOT! - Chloe is warned by Gabriel that he is going to set off a missile and obliterate all of Smallville. Still stripped of his super powers, Clark confronts Gabriel and ends up getting shot. In the hospital, Clark flatlines and his fate is left in Jor-El's hands. Meanwhile, Lex believes Lionel has the key to open the spaceship.

• 5.04 Aqua - October 20, 2005

  AQUAMAN SAVES LOIS AND PROFESSOR FINE DICOVERS LEX'S SECRET - A summer beach party at Crater Lake takes a dramatic turn when Lois hits her head while jumping into the lake. Before Clark can save her, a mysterious swimmer, Aquaman, a.k.a. AC, comes to her rescue, out-swimming Clark and leaving him baffled. Professor Fine tells Clark that Lex is behind a covert operation manufacturing weapons. AC attempts to break into the Luthercorp Marine Center in an attempt to destroy one of Lex's torpedoes and is captured by Lex.

• 5.05 Thirst - October 27, 2005

  CARRIE FISHER ("Star Wars") GUEST STARS AS EDITOR OF THE DAILY PLANET - Lana decides to enroll at Metropolis University at the last minute and is forced to join a sorority to find housing at such a late date. However, her new sorority sisters offer her more than a place to crash after they turn her into a vampire and instruct her to kill Clark. Meanwhile, Chloe applies for an internship at the Daily Planet, but the newspaper's formidable editor may be more then she can handle.

• 5.06 Exposed - November 3, 2005

  GOOD OLD BOY TOM WOPAT REUNITES WITH "DUKES OF HAZZARD" CO-STAR JOHN SCHNEIDER - Clark and Jonathan are thrilled when Jake Jennings, Jonathan's oldest friend, rolls into the Kent farm looking for their support in his campaign for re-election to the senate. However, after a young girl named Melissa turns up dead, it is revealed that she was a stripper and Jennings' mistress, which makes him the prime suspect. Searching for answers, Chloe convinces Lois to go undercover as a stripper, but things take a dangerous turn when Lois gets kidnapped by a diplomat's son who intends to sell her into slavery.

• 5.07 Splinter - November 10, 2005

  CLARK IS EXPOSED TO SILVER KRYPTONITE - Clark is exposed to silver kryptonite, causing him to have paranoid delusions. The silver kryptonite makes him believe that Chloe is going to reveal his secret, Jonathan is scheming against him with Lionel and Lex and Lana are having a secret relationship. Chloe and the Kents frantically search for a cure, but it is Professor Fine who comes to Clark's rescue - although not without an agenda.

• 5.08 Solitude - November 17, 2005

  PROFESSOR FINE CONVINCES CLARK TO DESTROY THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE - After Martha contracts a strange disease and is given hours to live, Clark turns to Professor Fine, who convinces Clark that Jor-El is the one responsible for her illness and the only way to save her is to destroy the Fortress of Solitude. However, once the two arrive at the Fortress, Professor Fine tries to free Zod and kill Clark.

• 5.09 Lexmas - December 8, 2005

  LEX IS VISITED BY THE GHOST OF CHRISTMAS FUTURE - Lex is given an envelope with damaging information that will destroy Jonathan's life and must decide whether he will use it as it will also bring harm to Clark and Martha. Before he can decide what to do, Lex is shot and falls into a coma. He dreams that his mother visits him and shows him the life he could lead if he walks away from his father and LuthorCorp. In this alternate life, Lex is happily married to Lana with a baby on the way. Meanwhile, Chloe asks Clark to use his powers to deliver Christmas presents to needy kids.

• 5.10 Fanatic - January 12, 2006

  THE RACE GETS UGLY BETWEEN JONATHAN AND LEX - Jonathan receives threats on his life from a mysterious source who urges him to drop out of the senate race. Later, Clark finds his dad bloody and beaten and becomes determined to find his attacker. He later discovers that a group of Lex's followers are determined to do anything to see that Lex wins the election. Lois' life is threatened when she's captured and asked to assassinate Jonathan during his speech. Lionel offers to give Martha money to help Jonathan's campaign. Lana is convinced that the answers she is looking for lie in researching the first meteor shower.

• 5.11 Lockdown - January 19, 2006

  LEX AND LANA ARE TAKEN HOSTAGE - The two police officers who witnessed the spaceship land in the meteor shower take Lex and Lana hostage and threaten to kill them unless Lex reveals where he hid the spaceship. While escaping to the panic room in the mansion, Lex takes a bullet meant for Lana. Fearing Lex may bleed to death, Lana asks him to tell the officers the secret location, but he confesses the ship has been missing for weeks. Meanwhile, Clark discovers Lana has been researching the spaceship with Lex and fears she is close to discovering his secret.

  SMALLVILLE'S 100TH EPISODE TRANSPORTS VIEWERS BACK INTO THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE AS CLARK BEGS JOR-EL TO SAVE THE LIFE OF SOMEONE HE LOVES - In the 100th episode of the series, Clark reveals his secret to Lana, Jonathan and Lex learn the results of the senatorial election and there is a tragic car accident on the highway that takes the life of someone Clark loves. A desperate Clark appeals to Jor-El for help.

  CLARK MEETS A FEMALE AVENGER - Clark discovers the new reporter at the Daily Planet, a bespectacled, bumbling woman named Maya, is actually a masked avenger who fights crime at night. Meanwhile, Clark's bottled-up grief threatens to get the best of him.

  LOIS IS TARGETED FOR MURDER - The spirit of a young girl is released after Lois finds a corpse in the walls of the Talon.   DC COMICS' CYBORG COMES TO SMALLVILLE - A sympathetic doctor releases a half-human/half-machine subject named Victor who was being held captive and experimented on by LuthorCorp. While making his escape, Victor is struck by Lana's car. After watching him walk away without a scratch, Lana calls Clark to investigate. Clark befriends Victor and promises to help him find his girlfriend, but Lex traps Victor and takes him back to LuthorCorp.

• 5.16 Hypnotic - March 30, 2006

  BRAINIAC SUMMONS LEX - Lex discovers that Professor Fine, aka Brainiac is in Honduras and sets out to confront him. Clark meets a beautiful seductress named Simone who uses a magical charm to make people succumb to her every wish. An enchanted Clark reveals his powers to Simone, who seizes the opportunity and demands that Clark kill Lex.

• 5.17 Void - April 6, 2006

  JONATHAN KENT RETURNS - Still distraught over her break-up with Clark, Lana experiments with a dangerous serum that allows her to flat-line and see her deceased parents again. A worried Clark rushes to save Lana from hurting herself, but ends up being injected with the kryptonite-laced serum by a rogue doctor. When Clark flat-lines, he is able to talk to his father, recently deceased Jonathan, who warns him that Lionel knows his secret. Meanwhile, Lionel continues to get closer to Martha.

  TOM WELLING'S DIRECTORIAL DEBUT - Clark and Martha take in a little girl, Maddie, after her foster mother is brutally stabbed to death. However, after it is discovered that Maddie has the power to shatter glass, she becomes the prime suspect. Meanwhile, Chloe walks in on Lex and Lana during an intimate moment.

  MARTHA'S LIFE IS IN DANGER AND ONLY LIONEL CAN SAVE HER - A masked tormentor takes Lionel hostage and orchestrates a series of elaborate games that Lionel must win in order to stay alive. After Clark tells Martha that Lionel knows his secret, she sets out to confront him, but inadvertently becomes a pawn in the tormentor's game and ends up fighting for her life.

  CLARK IS VISITED BY JONATHAN'S GHOST - Clark is stunned when he sees his father's ghost at the graveyard, but becomes even more confused after Jonathan tells him he must kill Lionel. Meanwhile, Lex develops a vaccine for Fine's deadly virus, but Fine intervenes and injects him with the vaccine, which causes a shocking reaction in Lex.

However, when Bart steals the manuscript from Lex, he inadvertently puts Clark's life in danger and must make the decision whether to save Clark or himself.

Learning his new body has super powers, Lionel immediately begins wreaking havoc on Smallville. When Chloe discovers Mxyzptlk's secret, he kidnaps her and threatens to kill her unless Clark throws the championship game. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) threatens Mxyzptlk with deportation unless he uses his powers for Lex's benefit.

  A WITCH HUNT IN SMALLVILLE - After Lana (Kristin Kreuk) reads from a spell book written in the 1600s, she, Lois (Erica Durance) and Chloe (Allison Mack) become possessed by witches that had been burned at the stake. The three witches have come back seek revenge and search for the powerful Kryptonian crystals, wreaking havoc on the town in the process. Clark attempts to stop the witches but they strip him of his powers and force him to reveal the location of the crystal he hid in the cave.

  JANE SEYMOUR GUEST-STARS - Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) is accused of killing a young woman and suspects that Lionel (John Glover) is behind it. Lionel, whose liver has miraculously healed, claims to be a new man and aids Clark (Tom Welling) in finding the person responsible for framing Lex. Meanwhile, Jason's (Jensen Ackles) mother, Genevieve (Jane Seymour), comes to town to visit her son and his new girlfriend. Jason suspects her motives and worries that his seemingly accidental meeting with Lana (Kristin Kreuk) in Paris might have been all a set up by his mother.

  TOXIC WASTE - A LuthorCorp experiment is released into the atmosphere - a toxin that causes its victims to hallucinate their worst fear. Lex (John Glover) is unimpressed with Lionel's (John Glover) claims of being a changed man.

However, Geoff is revealed to be a meteor freak and is secretly using his abilities to gain an unfair advantage on the field. Clark reconsiders his plans to pursue football in college. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) gets upset over Lex's (Michael Rosenbaum) investigation into Genevieve (Jane Seymour). She confronts Lex, who gives her a reason to reconsider her trust for the Teagues.

  SUPERDOG TO THE RESCUE - Lois (Erica Durance) accidentally hits a dog and brings it back to the farm to heal, but Clark (Tom Welling) quickly realizes it has super-strength. He investigates and discovers it was part of an aborted LuthorCorp experiment...and that robbers are using the dogs to help them steal money. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) wonders what Jason (Jensen Ackles) is up to with his mother, and Jason is forced to ask Genevieve (Jane Seymour) a few questions of his own.

  CLARK AND LANA HEAD TO CHINA IN SEARCH OF A KRYPTONIAN CRYSTAL - After Clark (Tom Welling) receives a message from the recently-deceased Dr. Swann, he and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) follow Jason (Jensen Ackles) and Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) to China in search of one of the Kryptonian Crystals. Lana is tortured, causing Isobel to emerge and wreak havoc in her search for the crystal.

  LEX'S DARK SIDE EMERGES AFTER A KRYPTONITE EXPLOSION - A black Kryptonite explosion splits Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) in two and his evil side - Alexander - is released. Alexander imprisons Lex in the mansion then gives full vent to his evil side - he threatens to evict Lana (Kristin Kreuk) from the Talon unless she becomes his mate, jousts with Lionel (John Glover) , and tries to kill Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison mack) when they figure out his secret.

  LIFEHOUSE ROCKS THE SMALLVILLE PROM - On the eve of the Smallville High School Prom, stuck-up candidate for Prom Queen Dawn Stiles is pulled into a coma when she crashes her car into a ravine filled with kryptonite. While her body lies in a coma, Dawn finds that her spirit can possess the bodies of others. To continue her quest to become Prom Queen, Dawn possesses the bodies of Martha (Annette O'Toole), Lana (Kristin Kreuk), Lois (Erica Durance), and Chloe (Allison Mack) in turn, leaving Clark bewildered at the abrupt personality change of his family and friends.

Chloe (Allison Mack) looks after him and teaches him about his superpowers while simultaneously trying to keep them secret. On his trip down memory lane, Clark meets Lana (Kristin Kreuk) and falls in love all over again. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) takes advantage of the situation and attempts to unravel some secrets.

  CLARK AND LANA FIND AN ABANDONED BABY IN THE CORNFIELD - Clark (Tom Welling) and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) discover an abandoned baby in a field and take him back to the Kent farm. However, when the baby ages from a newborn to a 7-year-old in less than a day, it becomes clear he is aging at an abnormally rapid rate and they turn to Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) for help. Meanwhile, Genevieve (Jane Seymour) suspects Lex has the Kryptonian artifact from China and threatens Lionel (John Glover) to either recover it, or risk putting Lex's life in danger.

  GENEVIEVE ATTACKS LANA TO GET THE CRYSTAL - Clark (Tom Welling) must stop the school photographer after he sets up a fake high school and uses his ability to petrify people to kidnap students - including Chloe (Allison Mack) and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) - to keep the glory days of high school going forever. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) and Lionel (John Glover) are kidnapped and tortured by the Teagues in an effort to find the Kryptonian artifact.

  THE 90-MINUTE SEASON FINALE IS PACKED WITH MURDER, BETRAYAL AND AN UNFORGETTABLE GRADUATION DAY FOR ALL - Clark's (Tom Welling) high school graduation ceremony is interrupted by a second meteor shower that hits Smallville. Clark goes to the caves to confront his father Jor-El, who says that if Clark does not reunite the three Kryptonian crystals, Earth will be annihilated. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) helps Lana (Kristin Kreuk), out of a bloody situation she finds herself in. His motives, however, are not solely in her best interests. As disaster looms, Chloe (Allison Mack) and Lois (Erica Durance) try to find Lana while Clark attempts to reassemble the stones, and someone makes an unexpected return to make things unpleasant for the Kents.

  CLARK DISCOVERS THAT JOR-EL WAS ON EARTH FORTY YEARS AGO - Lana's great uncle, who was convicted of murdering his wife forty years ago, shows her a picture of the man he believes really killed her aunt, and she is shocked to discover the drifter looks just like Clark. Sure that the man is Jor-El, Clark's investigation leads him to a kryptonian medallion that allows him to see bits of the past - and the life that Jor-El started for him long before he arrived on Earth.

Clark's suspicions are confirmed when he discovers Lana's new boyfriend has magnetic powers that can move objects and alter human emotions, but when he tries to free Lana from the paranormal hold that is controlling her, she tries to kill him. Meanwhile, Lex discovers Chloe has been delving into Lionel's past and tries to get her to join forces against his dad.

  MORGAN EDGE RETURNS TO SMALLVILLE - Lex locates Morgan Edge and gets him to admit to dirty dealings with Lionel, but before Lex can take it to the authorities, someone tries to kill him at the mansion. However, when Clark returns to the mansion to investigate he finds nothing amiss, and begins to wonder if it really happened, especially after Lionel announces Lex has had a psychotic break and must be institutionalized.

  LEX PLANS HIS ESCAPE FROM THE MENTAL INSTITUTION - Lex teams up with three krypto-villians to lure Clark to the hospital to enlist his help in escaping after he hears that Lionel has requested Lex be given electroshock therapy to erase his memory. However, the plan goes awry when the villains double-cross Lex and use kryptonite to steal Clark's powers. Meanwhile, Lana meets a mysterious new stranger in the hospital.

  CLARK DEVELOPS A NEW SUPER POWER - Attempting to stop a robbery, Clark is temporarily blinded when he shoots off a burst of heat vision that is accidentally reflected back into his eyes by a piece of kryptonite and soon realizes his body has developed super-hearing to compensate for his lack of sight. However, as it was in the beginning with his other gifts, Clark doesn't quite have his new power under control.

  CLARK AND LANA TRY TO KILL CHLOE - Clark and Lana each make an attempt on Chloe's life for unknown reasons after they receive a mysterious e-mail from the Sommerholt Institute. Clark must discover the source of these e-mails after Chloe reveals she has uncovered proof that they are doing mind-control research at the lab and realizes they must be trying to kill her in order to prevent her from writing an expose. Meanwhile, Lana decides to rent the apartment above the cafe to Adam even though she feels he is hiding something dangerous about his past.

  CHLOE AND LEX INVESTIGATE ADAM - Clark discovers that his schoolmate Jordan can foresee the future, but is horrified when Jordan tells him he "sees" Lana dying in a fire in the next few days. Meanwhile, suspicious of his behavior, Chloe investigates Adam's background and discovers some disturbing news.

  JONATHAN FACES LIFE-THREATENING HEART SURGERY - While his father is awaiting surgery, Clark befriends a young boy, Garrett, whose brother Vince just died from liver failure. In a desperate attempt to keep his brother alive, Garrett straps a Kryptonite bomb to himself and demands that Vince be given Jonathan's liver or he will blow up the building.

  ADAM ATTACKS LANA - Clark receives a panicked call from Lana and hears a gunshot before the line goes dead, but when he arrives at the Talon he is stunned to discover she is alive and well. Clark realizes the phone call came from the next day and that Adam is the one who will shoot Lana. Upon taking Clark to the Luthorcorp lab where Adam was being kept, Lex finds all of the staff murdered and suspects his father is behind it.

  CHRISTOPHER REEVE REPRISES HIS ROLE AS DR. SWANN AND FACES OFF WITH LIONEL LUTHOR - When Jonathan begins to act strangely, Clark believes Jor-El is sending Jonathan messages through the key and is the cause for his father's withdrawal from the family. Clark goes down to the caves to confront his biological father but Lionel catches him there and begins putting the pieces together - leading him straight to Dr. Swann. As the two billionaires face off, a deal is struck and Lionel's true motives are revealed.

  CHLOE ASK CLARK ABOUT HIS SECRET - When Chloe accidentally inhales a mysterious krypto-gas, she discovers it acts as a truth serum to anyone who comes in contact with her and decides to take advantage of her new power by going to the Kents to find out Clark's secret. However, her new power comes with fatal consequences and Clark must find an antidote before she discovers the truth about him or worse, dies.

  LEX DECIDES TO UNDERGO RADICAL TREATMENT TO REGAIN HIS MEMORY - Believing that key information about his father's past was lost when his memory was erased, Lex decides to join an experimental program with Dr. Garner to regain the information so he can turn his father over to the FBI. Knowing that Lex will discover his secret if he regains his memory, Clark tries to stop him but is caught by Lionel and the doctor and exposed to the same radical treatment so that Lionel can solve the mystery of Clark's past.

  JOHN SCHNEIDER DIRECTS - When a Kiwatche Indian steals a mythic knife from the caves, he is bestowed with superpowers similar to Clark's, causing the young man to believe he is the legendary Naman, "the man who fell from the stars." Clark learns the Kiwatche legend foretold of a knife that could kill Naman and sets out to reclaim it before the young Indian can use it on Lionel.

  PETE IS TORTURED BY A CROOKED FBI AGENT - Clark decides to tell Lana his secret so they can finally be together. Meanwhile, an errant FBI agent kidnaps and tortures Pete to try and force him to reveal Clark's secret. Also, Lex panics after the FBI gives him 24 hours to turn over information on his father or face jail time, but help arrives from an unexpected source.

  A MYSTERIOUS GIRL FROM KRYPTON COMES TO TAKE CLARK HOME - Things come to a head in Smallville when Kara, a beautiful girl with superpowers, who claims to be from Krypton, comes to entice Clark to fulfill his destiny. Overwhelmed, Clark turns to his parents for advice but is shocked when Kara forces Jonathan to finally reveal the deal he made with Jor-El. Also, Clark makes a discovery that ultimately redefines his relationship with Lex, and Clark's relationship with Lana takes a final turn. Meanwhile, Lex turns the tables on Lionel with the FBI.

The football team makes Clark a scarecrow by tying him to a cross in a cornfield. Jeremy Creek tries to electrocute everyone with his bare hands.

  A bug-loving teen is infused with superpowers after a bizarre accident, and the boy sets out to steal Lana's heart and dispose of her current boyfriend, an intimidating jock who warns the "bug boy" to stay away from Lana. Meanwhile, Lex asks the Kents to cater a party he is throwing.

• 1.03 Hothead - October 30, 2001

  Clark takes to the gridiron in this offbeat look at sportsmanship. The future Man of Steel is asked to join his high-school football team after the head coach sees Clark fire a pass to another player. Jonathan, however, refuses to sign the permission slip, fearing Clark might accidentally hurt another player or inadvertently show off his powers. Determined to play, the teen defies his father's wishes and gets his mother to sign the slip. What Clark doesn't know is that the coach has some powers of his own, and he's using them to cover up a cheating scandal involving his players.

  Clark battles intense headaches as he tries to adjust to his emerging power of X-ray vision, an ability that he cannot control. Also, Lex is framed for an armed robbery by a teenage girl who can take on the appearance of anyone she chooses. Elsewhere, Lana finds her mother's journal and accuses her aunt of lying to her.

  After falling through the ice and nearly drowning, a teen finds that he cannot keep himself warm without extracting heat from an outside source---mainly other people. Meanwhile, Lex persuades Clark to ask Lana out on a platonic date.

  While volunteering at a nursing home, he meets a blind resident who is rumored to be able to see the future. When Clark touches the woman's hand, she warns her guest that someone close to him will die soon. The prediction so unnerves Clark that he asks his parents to leave the dangerous farm work to him. His fears become intensified when he visits the woman again and has his own vision of the gravestones of his family and friends. Meanwhile, another resident regains his youth after falling into a lake lined with kryptonite and sets out to settle an old score.

  When Jodi decides to shed some weight, she resolves to eat only the vegetables in her family's greenhouse, unaware that the soil has been poisoned by kryptonite. As the pounds melt away and Jodi's appetite grows, regular food isn't enough to satisfy her hunger and she seeks live prey---aided by jaws that expand like a snake's when she attacks. Clark's friend Pete finds himself in harm's way when he develops a romantic interest in the newly svelte teen.

  Clark's craftiness is tested in this intriguing installment when he matches wits with a corrupt Metropolis police detective. On his way back from viewing an art exhibition in the city, Clark stops an out-of-control bus from hitting a homeless man. His heroics are witnessed by a crooked lawman, who tracks down the Smallville teen and makes him an offer he can't refuse: Perform illicit tasks for the cop or face exposure. But Clark isn't so eager to capitulate. Elsewhere, Lex's love life heats up when an old flame breezes into town and asks him to reconsider his current position in his father's company.

  A teen whose family lives and works in the Luthor mansion has a crush on Lex, and her jealousy of the tycoon's new girlfriend brings forth vandalism by an invisible perpetrator. Meanwhile, Clark volunteers to work with Lana on a school blood drive after she and Whitney have a fight.

  A crooked businessman who can get people to do whatever he wants by touching their hands sets out to buy the Kent farm so he can build an industrial plant in Smallville. Meanwhile, Clark and Lana argue over a physical confrontation between Whitney and a town hermit.

  The Teen of Steel becomes mere flesh and blood in the aftermath of an ill-timed rescue attempt. While trying to save a classmate from falling off the edge of a dam during a rainy class trip, Clark grasps the student's backpack, unaware that it is contaminated with Kryptonite. At the same moment, a bolt of lightning strikes, stripping Clark of his superpowers---and transferring them to the imperiled teen. Blessed (or cursed) with his newfound extraterrestrial abilities, the student sets out to win the heart of a popular girl, while Clark adjusts to life as a normal person.

  Chloe is seriously injured during a robbery at Lex's mansion that is perpetrated by three masked young men who can pass through walls. Meanwhile, Whitney's personal problems make him a target for the three bandits.

  Lex's shady past catches up with him when a man he thought was dead turns up in Smallville. The trouble stems from an incident in Metropolis three years before, when Lex escorted a woman to the hot spot Club Zero to make sure she caught her fiancé in the act of cheating. The furious groom-to-be attacked Lex, and the encounter ended with a purportedly fatal gunshot. Now the supposed corpse reappears at the cafe that Lex is renovating and leaves him a disturbing warning: the recently amputated hand of a security guard who assisted Lex that night at the club. Meanwhile, Clark is unsettled by a school assignment that has Chloe probing into his past.

  Jonathan is unknowingly poisoned by the pollen of a stolen plant that was created with the DNA of an extinct flower, and he begins to act erratically as he becomes increasingly ill. Meanwhile, the scientist who created the plant tries to recover the purloined posy.

  Clark befriends a kindred spirit when his family aids a secretive teen who can read minds. This strong installment has a refreshing twist: for once, the other boy with the superpowers isn't a villain. He's a benevolent lad who enters the Kents' life in dramatic fashion when he's accidentally struck by their pickup truck while fleeing from a murderous thief. Clark's parents take in the telepathic teen, but the boy's safety is soon jeopardized by the killer's return. Meanwhile, Lex a chance to leave Smallville when his father offers him a job in Metropolis, but their stormy history makes Lex wary of his father's generous impulse.

  A fall from a tall building embeds a kryptonite fragment into a man's arm, and he develops the ability to burn his victims to death with his bare hands. Meanwhile, Clark dreads going on a yearly fishing trip with Jonathan and he tells him so in a fit of anger.

  Clark finally learns that Chloe has a crush on him and he begins to question how he feels about her. But his indecisiveness leads to her interest in another student, an artist with telekinetic abilities whose hands were damaged in a car accident.

  A head injury gives Lana the ability to see through the eyes of a kidnapper who abducts Chloe and keeps her bound and blindfolded in a dark room filled with giant teddy bears. Meanwhile, an ambitious newspaper reporter provides Lex with new information about the meteor shower.

  Smallville residents face tumultuous times when the town's major employer threatens to shut down as the series concludes its first season. The commotion starts when Lionel Luthor announces that the LuthorCorp plant is closing, despite turning its first profit in years. Lex suspects that the decision is his father's retaliation for Lex's rejection of an earlier offer to work in Metropolis, so he's not taking the news lying down. Meanwhile, Clark finds his personal life in turmoil when he learns disparate circumstances may cause both Chloe and Whitney to leave Smallville. A performance by the band Remy Zero is also featured.
