Smallville writer Geoff Johns has revealed more details about the introduction of comic hero Booster Gold.
“The one thing Booster does prove to Clark (Tom Welling) is that people want to look up to this guy,” Johns told TV Guide. “They want to be inspired, and no-one’s doing it for them.”
He added that Martsolf’s performance as the egotistical Booster is “laugh out loud” funny.
“Sometimes you laugh with Booster, sometimes you laugh at him,” Johns said. “This guy always shows up at the last second to make a dramatic rescue, which is really suspect.”
Johns also dropped hints about Jaren Brandt Bartlett’s appearance as fellow superhero Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle.
“This is the first time the scarab comes on to Jaime, so it creates a bulkier, more dangerous armour,” he revealed. “Ultimately he’ll gain more control over the scarab and it will become more friendly looking.” - The Digital Spy
Smallville will return to the CW on April 15. “Booster” will air the following week at 8/7c.
