‘Smallville’ to end next season
The CW was hoping to announce at its upfront presentation Thursday that next season ofSmallville — the show’s 10th — would be its last. But Welling — who was expected to deliver said announcement in person — jumped the gun and blabbed it to the press last night.
Allison Mack bids farewell (but there’s a catch)
There are good news and bad news for fans of Smallville heroine Allison Mack. The actress has opted not to return as a series regular for the show’s 10th and final season. That’s the bad news. Here’s the good: You have not seen the last of Chloe — not by a long-shot. Read more.

Mother Knows Best
Mrs. K, oh, how we’ve missed you! Annette O’Toole made her triumphant return to Smallville as Martha Kent this week. The great thing about Martha—or, more precisely, O’Toole’s portrayal of her—is that she can say something as cheesy as “Sometimes the hardest save to make isn’t a stranger in a burning building, it’s the person closest to you” and it comes across as wise and comforting.
