Okay. I want to be the first to say that I am a little more than confused. I am getting whiplash over here from both Chloe and Tess. You go from good one minute to siding with the bad guy the next. And, this is the big one, if you, Lionel Luthor, knew from day one about Clark Kent being from another planet, the Traveler, and that another child was with him that you kept at your house for 5 days, why did it take this long to find it out? Anyone else confused?

After Tess blew him up, Davis wakes in the Luthor Mansion
The whole episode revolved around Davis learning more about himself. The fact that he crashed in the same field with Clark, only he was picked up by Lionel’s men. Uh, you passed by a space ship and you left it there? That was odd. We know Lionel did not have it because Jonathan picks it up later. So, he is kept in one of the guest rooms at Luthor Mansion because Lionel thinks he is the traveler. We even see him playing with Alexander, ah how sweet. The two men who will try to kill Superman in the future. But I digress. Alexander opens the box which ended up housing Lana’s necklace and reveals kryptonite, Davis writhes in pain. But after blood test reveal nothing, he lets the boy go. That and Martha Kent called asking for Lionel’s help in the adoption of a boy who appeared out of nowhere. And how do we find all this out? Seems Tess stole a book from Lionel that told the story of the discovery of both boys.
Let’s stay on Tess for a minute. I can’t figure her out. She blows up Davis when she finds him in the field where he and Clark crashed burying the bodies of those people he killed. Only he does not die. Tess tells him she wants to kill him and then tells him he is safer with her than he is outside. She explains to him that he was sent to Earth to kill Clark. The way she described it was he was like Judas and Clark was like Jesus. Tess thinks that Clark will need to face his ultimate challenge, Davis, to become the savior of the world. Just how Jesus had to be betrayed by Judas to become Savior of the world. She tells him that Clark is that Savior. Davis knocks her across the room. Where she ends up in the hospital. Cue the creepy music because now she starts talking to Clark about all this Davis and him being the savior. Of course Clark tells her that she is crazy and he is not from outer space, blah, blah, blah! We later see her talking to Clark at the farm and telling him that he had to face his Judas to be the man he is going to become. Clark keeps telling her that he is normal and nothing else. She tells Clark that if this is how he lied to Lex it is no wonder he went off the deep in. She tells Clark that Lionel and Lex spent too much time trying to decide who was more worthy of the traveler rather than seeing that two boys came down with the meteor shower. Segeth and Neumann.
Chloe cannot go without being mentioned. Clark finds her having dinner with Davis. He had been there having her help him fix his phone while he made her dinner. He asks about Jimmy and she tells him that he wants nothing to do with Chloe. No letters, no calls, no text and no emails. Leave him alone. Can you blame him? His wife tazered him after all! Davis cuts his finger and Chloe sees there is no scratch. But he leaves when Clark arrives, seems that can’t be in the same room together. Clark tries to warn her but she won’t listen. Not until she learns about his pictures of the victims on his computer. Davis tells her that he loves her and wants to know how she feels. She tells him that she can’t believe he asked her after finding out that he is going to kill Clark someday and that he is the world’s worst killer. He says he can’t help himself but he has figured out a way for her to help. He wants her to help him die.
Clark comes to find Chloe and discovers she is with Davis at Dr. Grolls lab. When he gets there Chloe is about to pull the lever to release the liquid Kryptonite on Davis to kill him. Clark stops her and tells Davis that it is all his fault that he is the way he is. That if he had had a family he would have turned out like Clark that they should have been brothers. Davis said you can’t fight your true nature. He starts changing, Clark doesn’t want him to die and Chloe pulls the switch. It looks like he is getting weaker only he is not, later! Clark comes to Chloe’s and finds her upset. Clark wants to talk to her about what she did. She said no matter what his code, she had to kill Davis to save him. Clark said if he was supposed to be the greatest enemy yet he was not much of a challenge. He burns the Segeth/Neumann photo. He thinks the curse is over since Ollie was going to take care of everything.
Last thing was see is Chloe at the Talon. She hears a noise in the basement. It’s Davis. Now here is where she goes south. She tells him that she is not going to let him kill Clark or anyone else. Davis tells her that when he is with her, she keeps the murderer at bay. He wants her to stay. Chloe climbs the stairs and you think she is going to leave but no! She locks the damn door! Why did Ollie not call Clark and tell him that Davis was not only alive but stronger? That he was not able to successfully dispose of Davis for whatever reason.
Let me say a few things here! First off, Tess needs to either be good or bad or stop straddling the fence! She has the device to control the traveler that was the very last shot. Her smiling at the blue orb! Okay, is Lex really not dead or what? Did she find it in the ice on the search for Lex? Whatever the reason, she has it. Also, there is no way she can live since she knows so much about Clark. Now to Lionel. If you knew the whole time Clark was the Traveler and there was another with him, why did he never say anything?! It makes no sense. Yes, it is interesting how they want to tie it all together but why wait until now? Chloe!! You are supposed to be Clark’s best friend, confident and side kick. Yet you are going to take the side of the monster that will kill Superman! Is it possible that she still has Brainiac in her? And Clark? Dude, too many people know your secret. Stop it!
The episode was very interesting. They are looking for fresh new ideas. If I were renewing next season, I would be hunting for stuff too. Tom Welling is still as sexy as ever and I think he is getting much closer to his true self every episode. I will keep watching for him. I also want to see what they will come up with next.
NEXT WEEK: Why does Lois think she is a superhero? STAY TUNED!!!

Why does Smallville seems more like an Alternate Earth in DC Comics… good twist on the story of S-Man… keep up the good work!!!
Nice review. Only thing I didn’t really understand was why when Tess revealed the Orb there was whispering noises???
Me too. I am SERIOUSLY trying to figure out what was up with those noises… Wierd..
