The episode sort of started out a little slow but right in the middle, as usual, it was like WOAH!! There she was. Right there on the screen. The woman that Clark has longed to see almost as much as he has longed to be with Lana: his mother, Lara. There could not have been a better person to play her than the original big screen Supergirl, Helen Slater. The look of bliss was once more on Clark’s face and there is never a better thing to see on Smallville.
Kara is away from the farm using any means possible to find her crystal. While day dreaming about Kandor and her father, Kara almost collides with a plane before flying off to do more research on the missing crystal? She discovers that is supposedly in an underground storage facility in Virginia but when she goes there, nothing. By now Clark has caught up with her. A fight ensues and she tells him that just because they are family does not mean they must be friends and she proceeds to knock him through a door and fly away. Did I see him give an “I wish I could fly” look? You know he wants to. He would get around so much faster.
Clark goes to discuss Kara with Lionel, in a way. He left a lot of vital information out when he was talking to him. Lionel tells him that there has been a project Silver hawk around since the 2nd meteor shower but he said he had warded them off of Clark so he thought they had given up. Clark wants to know all Lionel knew about it.
Kara is using Jimmy’s computer to find out about where the crystal is and who own the warehouse where her ship was and it was owned by known other than Lex Luthor. She goes to the mansion and there she is captured by the man from the Department of Homeland Security and is handcuffed with Kryptonite handcuff and then he shoots Lex with a dart. Lana security feed had gone out because the homeland security guard since he had disconnected it. After some searching she realizes that Kara had been at the mansion so she calls Clark who goes to find her and Lex tells him where she is.
Kara is in a world of hurt. The goon has her latched to a chair and pumping her full of Kryptonite in liquid form. The technology had been gotten from Sommerholt institute. While he was asking Kara questions she revealed that she had been to the Kent farm prior to the 1st meteor shower because she had followed Lara. They had been in the barn and in the house because the Kent’s were at church and Kara and Lara were talking about what to name her unborn son because the war was not ending and she could not leave her destiny in the hands of the planet. Kara tells her she should call him Kal-el so when he looked to the skies and think of them. She took a picture of Lara and they put it behind a picture of Martha. After the 2nd dose, it almost kills her and as she was about to be given the 3rd dose, Clark comes to the rescue. Only he gets weakened himself. The guard is all excited about the prospect of another alien but Lionel comes in and shoots the bad guy and tells Clark he would have told Clark about this if he had known that all this was going on. When he goes to help Kara, he also gets an image of Lara. He sees Zor-el coming in the house and he was basically hitting on his mom and it is true that he had tried to kill Jor-el. He also tells Lara that he had taken her DNA and was planning on cloning her where they would always be together. Kara sees him and wants him to stop and Zor-el takes all her memories away. Clark comes back and has to hit Kara super hard in the chest and back she comes.
Clark and Kara make up and she tells him that she is glad that they have one another and he says the same. She tells him that she is going to stop focusing on the past and be more controlled with her future hear on Earth. Kara goes to meet Jimmy and thank him for helping her and asks him to lunch whom she then kisses. Chloe sees Jimmy and asks while he is so happy and she tells him that they could still be friends, why couldn’t they go to lunch. But he tells her she has plans and sees Kara waiting for him. Also Lionel goes to see Lex and Lex tells him that he wanted to know whose father he was because Lionel spent so much time protecting Clark and pushing him away. Lionel comments on the way he treated Lana and Lex said he had learned from the way he treated Lillian.
Lana is holding a secret from Clark about the Isis Company that is helping meteor freaks adjust to life after all the bad things Lex did to them at 33.1, all Lana wanted to do was help them. Chloe is suspicious of her motives but Lana tells her, asks her, to keep this secret from Clark and Chloe is surprised that they are keeping things from each other. Clark on the other hand wants to share it all with her. She takes Lana to the barn and shows her the picture of Lara and she tells him that she is absolutely stunning. Clark then shows her that he has the crystal that has his mom’s DNA in it. I think this is the blue Kryptonite.
People, it was so cool to finally see Clark’s real mom, Lara. He looked so sweet when he talked to Lana about her. How cool is it that she was in the loop now and being brought to Smallville. It is going to be an amazing season and I am loving it!
