People, Kara has arrived in Smallville!!! All I can say is how cool is it that Clark is no longer alone! He has family again living with him. Life is good at the Kent farm once more.
It all began with Lois finding a ship and getting knocked out when she got too close to it. Before that Clark had told Lois that he was leaving Smallville because he had something up north to do. Really? You think! Kara appeared on the scene and the two went at each other and she sent him flying through the air with the greatest of ease and told him that is what he gets for touching her things. Lois wants to write the story of the century but Clark is telling her she imagined it all and needs to go to the hospital. Chloe agrees and tells her that she is going to take her but not before she asks Clark is this for real. He tells her yes and that this Kryptonian girl was a strong as he was but she could fly. He is asked by Chloe if he was the only decent Kryptonian since he sees bodies of park rangers near where the ship used to be and assumes it is the girl who did it.
Meanwhile over in the prison, Lex is getting out because someone claimed they had killed her. A disgruntled worker who now had cancer because of chemicals where he was working killed Lana or was it? Lex knows that Lana is alive and that she is in China. He goes to where she is and he figures out what it is she did to get away. Lana took the clone of her and put it in her car and that was what blew up. She must have paid the guy off who was dying to say he had killed her and she had a gun on him the whole time. He apologized for what he had done to her and asked her to go ahead and kill him because the world would be a better place with out him. In the end she could not kill him, which I knew she couldn’t and he told her that she could come back to Smallville and he would not harm her. And he leaves her there. LANA IS ALIVE AND COMING BACK TO SMALLVILLE!!!
There is a new reporter sitting across the desk from Chloe and it is none other than Lois Lane. The new editor liked her style and told Lois that Chloe had lost her edge after leaving the torch. He did tell her that it would be better if she had pictures to go with her story next time. She was going to run with the space ship story even after Chloe told her not to try because the Daily Planet printed the truth but the new editor wanted stories that sell and he told Chloe that family rivalry was good. He also told Chloe that maybe she could learn something from Lois, maybe get that old spunk back. Lois looked like she will so becoming the ruthless reporter at the Planet that we are all familiar with. Chloe looked slightly let down. I hated that. Then again, she has had a lot on her mind lately what with Jimmy gone and the new power.
Clark and Kara have to save the world because her ship is like a nuclear device and if any one else touches it, it goes BOOM!! Well, the government gets a hold of it and sets it off. What ever will they do? Clark teaches Kara how to use her hearing. I thought that was awesome. I also liked how Kara said that since Clark could not fly that girls must mature faster than boys after all. They save the planet by stopping the ship from exploding and that means that they are stuck now. Which Clark tells her humans are not that bad and that she can tell him about Krypton and his family? She tells him how his mom, Lara, was all excited about being pregnant and that he was their miracle baby. She also tells him about how the house of El was dysfunctional and that Jor-el and Zor-el did not talk to one another. He goes to the fortress and asks Jor-el about Kara and he knows nothing about her coming to Earth. But he did tell him that the first thing he needed to do as far as his training goes is to look out for Kara because she could be his greatest challenge ever.
What else was going on? Lionel is missing and presumed dead. Chloe was looking at pics of psychos at Belle Reeve. Why? Maybe she was thinking about going to get herself checked out. They never really explained that or Lionel but I am sure that is a tie in for later.
This episode was awesome. It was great to see Clark a little happy after losing Lana, although she is not lost now. The two of them together, Kara and Clark, is going to be amazing along with Chloe and Lois trying to out scoop each other. Incidentally, the new editor is not all that cute. How Lois will pick him over Ollie is beyond me. I think that there is more excitement yet to come!
