MORGAN EDGE RETURNS TO SMALLVILLE – Lex locates Morgan Edge and gets him to admit to dirty dealings with Lionel, but before Lex can take it to the authorities, someone tries to kill him at the mansion. Barely surviving, Lex flees and asks Clark for help. However, when Clark returns to the mansion to investigate he finds nothing amiss, and begins to wonder if it really happened, especially after Lionel announces Lex has had a psychotic break and must be institutionalized.

CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED SINGER-SONGWRITER JOSH KELLEY PERFORMS – Clark is suspicious when Lana suddenly becomes attracted to a fellow student and begins to act rebelliously, which eventually lands her in jail. Clark’s suspicions are confirmed when he discovers Lana’s new boyfriend has magnetic powers that can move objects and alter human emotions, but when he tries to free Lana from the paranormal hold that is controlling her, she tries to kill him. Meanwhile, Lex discovers Chloe has been delving into Lionel’s past and tries to get her to join forces against his dad.

CLARK DISCOVERS THAT JOR-EL WAS ON EARTH FORTY YEARS AGO – Lana’s great uncle, who was convicted of murdering his wife forty years ago, shows her a picture of the man he believes really killed her aunt, and she is shocked to discover the drifter looks just like Clark. Sure that the man is Jor-El, Clark’s investigation leads him to a kryptonian medallion that allows him to see bits of the past – and the life that Jor-El started for him long before he arrived on Earth.

MICHAEL MCKEAN GUEST STARS AS SUPER JOURNALIST PERRY WHITE – Perry White , a once promising journalist whose career was destroyed by Lionel Luthor, arrives in Smallville in search of alien stories for a tabloid news show. In spite of being constantly inebriated, Perry believes he has witnessed Clark using his extraordinary speed, so he devises a dangerous scheme to expose Clark’s superpowers. Meanwhile, Lex learns that Perry has powerful incriminating evidence of Lionel’s shady past.
3.04 Slumber
MUSICAL GROUP REM SUPPLYS MUSIC FOR ENTIRE EPISODE – Clark dreams he is being pursued by a frightened young girl who needs his help. However, after he discovers she is actually a comatose neighbor who should have woken up years ago, he enlists Lana’s help to uncover the truth – which puts Lana in grave danger. Meanwhile, Lionel demands that Lex undergo a full psychological evaluation before he hires him.
3.03 Extinction
CLARK IS SHOT WITH A KRYPTONITE BULLET – Clark discovers someone is hunting people affected by the kryptonite rocks and the killer’s next target is Lex. Clark uses his powers to save Lex, but is caught off guard when the killer learns his weakness and shoots him with a kryptonite bullet.

JONATHAN USES HIS NEW POWERS TO BATTLE CLARK – After Jor-El grants Jonathan temporary superpowers, he and Clark engage in a destructive battle atop the LuthorCorp building. Meanwhile, Lex returns home and must determine whether it was Lionel or Helen who arranged his plane crash.

THE THRILLING CONCLUSION TO LAST SEASON’S CLIFFHANGER – Under the influence of red kryptonite and living in Metropolis, Clark gets involved with a crime lord named Morgan Edge who hires him to break into LuthorCorp. Meanwhile, desperate to put his family back together, Jonathan takes drastic measures to bring Clark home. At the mansion, Lionel accuses Helen of killing Lex.

Season 2 Episode Guide
Clark rescues Lana from the giant tornado and takes her to the hospital. When he returns home, Clark learns the ship is gone, and that his father chased Roger Nixon into the storm. Lex is wracked with guilt over not helping his father sooner, who is now in the hospital, and makes a decision that costs his father his eyesight. Jonathan and Nixon attempt to dig themselves out of the crypt they fell into after a mobile home dropped out of the sky on top of them. Clark shows up before the two men lose all oxygen, but the meteor rocks weaken him. Nixon takes advantage of the situation, and kidnaps Clark. Lex shows up and saves Jonathan’s life by shooting Nixon before he can kill Jonathan.
2.23 Exodus
CLARK MAKES A DECISION ABOUT HIS DESTINY – A sense of foreboding surrounds Smallville as Clark must choose between staying with Lana and his family or fulfilling his destiny to rule the Earth. Meanwhile, Lex and Helen plan their upcoming wedding, but outside forces may ultimately keep them apart. Also, a hurt Chloe considers Lionel’s offer to investigate Clark.
2.22 Calling
CLARK’S SECRET IS REVEALED IN PART ONE OF THE SEASON FINALE – Dr. Walden wakes up from his coma and tells Lex and Lionel that Clark is an alien and must be destroyed. Meanwhile, a romantic encounter between Clark and Lana hints at a promising future, but after Chloe finds out they are together, Lana pulls back.

CLARK MEETS HIS MATCH – Clark stumbles upon a robbery of a LuthorCorp truck carrying kryptonite and is stunned to realize he can’t stop the thieves because they are as strong as he is. To keep Clark from going to the police, the thugs attack Jonathan and Martha, leaving Clark feeling powerless and desperate for a way to protect his parents.
2.19 Precipice
CLARK MISUSES HIS POWERS AND CAUSES A SERIOUS INJURY – After Lana is almost assaulted by a college student, Clark loses control and injures the boy. When the Kents are sued for punitive damages that could cost them the farm, Clark begins to question his powers while trying to find a way out of the lawsuit. Meanwhile, Helen’s ex- boyfriend arrives in town intent on winning her back, but when she turns him down, he stabs her, prompting Lex to take the law into his own hands.
